Large industrial companies plan to cut their IT investments, Trade companies anticipate growth
Marketvisio’s ICT Barometer aims to give a quick overview of development of ICT investments in large companies operating in Finland. In the survey, IT investments are assessed both as whole and separately regarding hardware and software investments as well as procurement of IT and telecom services.
This report contains the results of the ICT Barometer concerning the last quarter of 2008. Data gathering was conducted via a web survey at the end of November as well as via telephone interviews during December 1 – 12, 2008. Respondents represent mainly IT management. Public sector organizations are not included in the survey.
”Up to 42 per cent of large companies operating in Finland say they will decrease their IT investments within next 12 months compared to previous 12 months. However, there are remarkable differences between the various fields of business. Industrial companies plan to cut their IT investments rather quickly whereas companies in Trade anticipate their IT investments to grow.”
